Singer Sandi Thom has posted a teary video which sees her hit out at BBC Radio 2 for not adding her latest single to its playlist.

Thom, 34 – who was famed for her 2006 hit I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair) – said there is “no reason” why her new single should be rejected as it “fits their format”.

Wiping tears from her eyes the Scottish singer says: “I just heard that Earthquake didn’t make the Radio 2 playlist again. I wanted to make this video so people realise how much it hurts because I apparently can do no right.

"I wrote a song that is pop and catchy and fits their format and there is no reason why they shouldn’t play my music and I swear to God they have no idea how much it actually hurts when it’s been years and years trying to gain some kind of respect from these people."

Thom goes on to say that “without their support it can’t be a success” and laments that "basically 22 million people across the country will not get to hear this song".

After hitting out at Radio 2 she also slams Bauer Media for refusing to promote the single.

"Honest to God I’m f****** sick to death of the bulls*** this industry pulls on people like me and I’ve had it," she says. "Enough I’m done. F*** you Radio 2. F*** you Bauer network and F*** the lot of you. It is utter shit. It’s an fucking good song, ok. There is no reason why you need to do this to me once again."
