Designer Savannah Miller has told how she and her Hollywood actress sister Sienna always borrow each other’s clothes as she launches her comeback fashion range.

Savannah, 36, said she was very close to her sister and “always in her wardrobe”.

They worked together on a range for Pepe Jeans in 2006 and started fashion label Twenty8Twelve in 2007. Savannah debuted her eponymous collection in 2012, saying it was “time to stand on my own two feet” without Sienna, 33.

She said: “We borrow inspiration from each other and each other’s clothes. I am constantly in her wardrobe which must drive her nuts. But then she will be like,‘Damn where did you get that from?’

“There is no rivalry between us at all though. We are incredibly close. Our parents got divorced when we were young. We were shipped about a bit. The thing that was consistent was ‘us’. We are partners in crime.”

Her new collection, Nine, with high street store Debenhams features 48 accessories and 70 womenswear pieces ranging from £12 vests to £250 leather jackets. It will be officially launched at a party at London’s Ham Yard Hotel tomorrow evening, but is available now in 65 stores and online.

Sienna Miller: Style over time

The Central Saint Martins fashion graduate returned last May from a year’s sabbatical with husband Nik and children Moses, Lyra and Bali. In 2013, the family sold their Cotswold farmhouse and set off to Panama.

During their trip, her eldest son Moses, then eight, almost died after getting sucked into the propellers of a boat. His leg was cut to the bone after he fell into the water in a nature reserve.

Miller described their time there as her “own personal disaster movie” where they lived with no running water or electricity. She sought help after a breakdown where she realised she was suffering from post-natal depression.

“This is my first major project since getting back,” she said. “My idea was to create a perfect capsule winter wardrobe. It is for the mum-on-the-run who gets vomited on and then needs to throw their beautiful thing in the washing machine.”
