Scarlett Johansson has said that it’s important for her daughter to see her at work as she’s an ‘independent woman’.

The Ghost in the Shell actress admitted that she regularly takes two-year-old Rose onto set with her, just weeks after her estranged husband Romain Dauriac complained about her work schedule.

“I am so proud to do and I love to do and to be able to show my daughter that and have her come to the workplace and show her I’m an independent woman making it happen is very important for me,” Johansson told Lorraine on Thursday.

Following news of their break-up, Dauriac’s lawyer said in a statement: “Mr. Dauriac is tired of having to run his life and his child's life based on Ms. Johansson's shooting schedule.”

Speaking about her participation in the recent Women’s March, Johansson said that it was about campaigning for women’s rights rather than protesting against Donald Trump.

“It’s important to know the women’s march was not against Trump it was basically a march for women to highlight that we are a very strong force to be reckoned with,” she told Lorraine.

“I think people in general can sometimes forget that their rights are not given, you have to fight for and continue to protect for the rights to your body and equal fair pay and they are important to highlight.”

She added: “The gender bias does exist. We need to stand together to highlight that imbalance. As a woman, as a feminist, as a mother it was important for me to be there.”

Johansson is thought to have filed for divorce from Dauriac last month after two-and-a-half years of marriage.

The pair tied the knot in October 2014, just a few months after the birth of their daughter Rose Dorothy.
