Gwyneth Paltrow was trolled on Instagram for posting pictures while choosing to remain silent in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein allegations.

Paltrow – who won an Oscar for her role in the Weinstein-produced Shakespeare in Love – was accused of being an “enabler” after she posted a mountain landscape to her 3.6 million followers.

She captioned the shot: “Georgia sunrise/moonset.”

Users were quick to point out her silence amidst the reports of Weinstein’s alleged harassment of female stars including Rose McGowan and Ashley Judd..

Some said they had been left “disappointed” while others encouraged her to act as a “role model” to her daughter Apple.

One posted: “I cannot get over her silence...it speaks volumes. She is totally self-serving.”

Another commented: “Do you plan on speaking up about the sexual predators in Hollywood? #harveyweinstein!!”

A third posted: “You talk about empowerment, yet you remain silent on Weinstein. Let's support other women.”

Others defended the actress with one commenting: “I cannot get over the bullying on this comment section. The judgment and assumptions are unreal.”

Another wrote: “I just think all this hate towards GP is misguided and everyone should consider there could be more to the story.”

A slew of Hollywood stars have spoken out in the wake of the allegations with Dame Judi Dench describing it as “horrifying” while Meryl Streep described Weinstein’s conduct as an “abuse of power”.

George Clooney claimed he had never seen evidence of Weinstein’s alleged behaviour which he slammed as “indefensible”.

McGowan – who is reportedly one of eight women who reached legal settlements with Weinstein over sex harassment accusations – branded fashion boss Donna Karan “scum” after she appeared to suggest some women may be asking for trouble by the way they dress.
