Sheridan Smith has a lorra lorra laughs as she films new TV drama Cilla
Sheridan Smith has donned a ginger wig for her new role as Britain's best loved matchmaker, Cilla Black.
The new ITV drama looks set to focus on a lorra lorra romances as well as documenting the Liverpudlian’s rise to fame.
ITV's Jeff Pope said that the drama will “capture the essence of 1960s Liverpool” and show how the loveable presenter was noticed by the Beatles manager Brian Epstein, and producer George Martin during her friendship with Ringo Starr.
The Two Pints of Lager actress bares a striking resemblance to the 1960s icon after revealing that she dyed her hair ginger and donned a pair of life like teeth to recreate a young Cilla Black.
She also met up with the Blind Date host to talk to her about tips. She told the Daily Telegraph: "We are going for dinner. Before we start shooting, I wanted to meet her.
"I’ve been watching lots of footage so I feel like I know her inside out."
Sheridan took to Twitter after filming had wrapped up to tell fans how emotional she was, tweeting: "Oh dear, literally sobbing my eyes out driving out of Liverpool. Never get like this."
