Simon Cowell has thanked fans for their "concern" after he was rushed to hospital after falling down the stairs of his London home and injuring his neck.

The X Factor judge was stretchered out of his house by paramedics on Friday morning wearing a neck brace after slipping while carrying a cup of hot milk.

According to reports, the music mogul is has now returned from hospital after undergoing tests, with his appearance on Saturday’s live X Factor in jeopardy.

He returned home around 4pm looking dazed, and according to the MailOnline told reporters at his front door: "I fainted and fell down the stairs. I've got a bit of concussion. I feel better now."

A source told The Sun: “It’s been a scary morning. It was very early and Simon was going down his stairs to get some hot milk because he couldn’t sleep."

“An ambulance was called and he was stretchered out of the house in a neck brace surrounded by worried aides.”

Cowell is reportedly in a stable condition and his injuries are not thought to be serious.

The X Factor creator is scheduled to be heading up the judging panel for the first of this year’s live shows on Saturday night.

He is mentoring this year’s groups category, which he whittled down to just three acts with the help of Cheryl last week.

Cowell was meant to be joined by Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh the first of this weekend’s two live shows.
