Sir Patrick Stewart transforms into glamorous woman… and fans think he looks like Helen Mirren

Sir Patrick Stewart has undergone a rather staggering transformation for his role on Blunt Talk.

The British thespian, who stars as a cable news reporter in the US sitcom, dressed up as a glamorous woman for the latest episode.

Sharing the results of his make-over on Twitter, the 75-year-old wrote: “Something is happening in Hollywood tonight.”

Rather than just throwing on a wig and some lipstick, the A-lister decided to go to town, complete with false lashes, a pink satin dress and stilettos.

Fans seemed to be rather impressed with Sir Patrick’s new look, with many Twitter followers bowled over by his resemblance to a certain Dame.

One Twitter user wrote: “Helen Mirren lookalike contest?”

“Wow, I thought more Dame Hellen Mirrem! (sic),” wrote another.

Someone else added: “You look like Helen Mirren's older distinguished sister, and I have so many questions.”

The actor stars as British ex-pat Walter Blunt in the US show, produced by Seth MacFarlane.

Show creator Jonathan Ames recently admitted that he got inspiration for Sir Patrick’s role from Piers Morgan’s turn on CNN.

“I was channelling past CNN and happened to see Piers Morgan in front of a blue backdrop,” he said.

“In that moment, I thought Patrick Stewart would look amazing behind such a desk. We could live behind the scenes and create a world from there.”
