Taylor Swift fans have been divided over her brand new revenge track, with many believing it to be directed at rivals Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

While some described Look What You Made Me Do as a “catchy” new track and powerful new direction for the pop star, others criticised the “harsh” lyrics and “direct” attack on the power couple.

“Taylor swift is such a whiny idiot. This is garbage and so is her lame gabs at Kanye and Kim. All because she got caught #taylorswift #kanye,” one detractor wrote on Twitter.

“Yikes this Taylor track is baaaaaad. Kim ruined her rep and her ability to write a good melody,” posted another.

Swift fans saw the track as the star’s ultimate revenge after Kardashian publically posted an audio recording of her phone call with West on Twitter last year, in which they discussed the lyrics to his track, Famous.

“Taylor was out there taking notes when stan twitter thought kim ended her,” wrote one person.

“Taylor Swift is coming for blood, and she won't settle for less. #LookWhatYouMadeMeDo.” Posted another.

Another fan posted: “Just heard the song again. idgaf her song is fire. these lyrics are ICONIC. taylor is serving karma on a silver platter yes honey i'm living.”

Swift released the new track on Thursday evening after teasing fans during by posting video clips of a snake during the week, alluding to her reputation.

Fans were quick to speculate if the reptile was a reference to the time she was trolled with snake emojis following her feud with West.

Swift and West reignited their feud last year when Swift denied West’s claim that he had sought her permission to use the lyric: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b**** famous.”

West’s wife Kardashian then claimed Swift “totally approved” the lyric in an interview with GQ, and later posted a recording of the alleged phone conversation between the artists.
