Matt Healy has tried out a new incentive to encourage people to vote for Labour.

The 1975 frontman has promised to strip off and make public pictures of himself in the nude if fans shun the Conservatives.

He tweeted: “Vote Labour. I don't know how to use my ‘platform’ in order to incentivise democracy.

“But vote Labour and I'll send nudes if that works.”

Fans got predictably excited with some joking that they would seek British citizenship to be able to cast a vote for Jeremy Corbyn’s party.

Others were less hopeful and shared screenshots of Healy’s previous promise to “send nudes” if people voted for them in the Mercury prize.

Others slammed the singer for encouraging pornography, with one tweeting: “This is f****** disgusting. First off, don't tell people what to do and second don't you dare encourage the use of pornographic images.”

Another posted: “I'd vote labour if you'd promise to not do that (sic).”

Healy is among a host of stars who threw their support behind the Labour party ahead of polling day.

Lily Allen, Russell Brand, Ricky Gervais, Steve Coogan, Liam Gallagher, Danny Devito, Eddie Izzard, Ross Kemp, Robert Webb and Stormzy all encouraged fans to vote red.

Jim Davidson, John McCririck and Katie Hopkins all backed Theresa May and the Conservatives, as well as Lord Alan Sugar who was mocked for begging fans to "trust him".
