The Backstreet Boys confirm Las Vegas residency and world tour

The Backstreet Boys have confirmed that they have signed a deal for a Las Vegas residency and a new world tour.

The 1990s boy band, who have reformed yet again, will perform nine shows as a ‘trial run’ before hoping to take on a full residency.

Speaking at the LA premiere of their new zombie movie, Dead 7, the pop stars also announced that a new studio album isn’t far off.

“We have a deal with Live Nation, the touring company, and we just signed a nine-show deal to do a test run in Vegas with a residency,” said Nick Carter.

“So that’s definitely going to happen, but we’re going to do a trial run first.”

Kevin Richardson added: “We’re definitely in the studio recording a brand new album. We’re going to do a world tour first.”

The band will follow in the footsteps of stars including Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion who have all recently had Vegas residencies.

Despite being at the height of their fame in the mid-1990s, the boys have performed together on and off ever since.

Back in 2013 they reformed for a world tour and album of new material.

They have most recently starred in Carter’s post-Apocalyptic zombie film, which also stars members of ‘N Sync, O-Town and 98 Degrees.
