Forget colour-swatch compromises. No more space wars. Avoid those rows about the relative merits of curtains or blinds, carpet or floorboards. One of the sheer, unadulterated pleasures of single living is being single minded about where and how you live. Get it right, and there's something unmistakable about a space designed with a single vision: it's homogeneous, unified, an extension of your personality. With increasing numbers of Londoners opting to go it alone, the single pad has become hot property. And just to prove that beauty comes in different sizes and guises, here we look at three properties: small, medium and large.
