The Only Way Is Essex star James ‘Arg’ Argent has revealed that he would love to star in a reality show documenting the lead up to his wedding to Lydia Bright.

The 27-year-old Essex regular said that he would consider starring in a fly-on-the-wall show when he pops the question to his childhood sweetheart.

Speaking to the Evening Standard Online he said: “If I was to have a reality TV show outside of TOWIE it would probably be about me and Lydia.

“If me and Lydia were to get married I’d love to do an American Pie the reunion style show and film Lydia’s hen do and my stag and have our wedding. That would be great.”

But despite considering playing out their wedding in front of the nation, Bright, 25, has revealed that she would be “heartbroken” if Arg proposed on TV.

“If James proposed to me on TOWIE I’d be really heartbroken only because there’s been so many proposals on TOWIE and every single one has failed and I think it’s making a mockery,” she said. “We both give so much to TOWIE and I just think there’s some things that you need to keep private – and a proposal is an intimate moment.”

"We always seem to find a way back to one another"

During the show's five year run, viewers have watched the pair struggle through cheating accusations, a tough break up, date other cast members and finally declare their love for one another.

Speaking about their reunion, Bright said: “We’ve proved that we’re stronger than ever. We’ve tackled many obstacles in our seven years on and off together and we’ve always overcome them. What I’m hoping is that we’re going to stay strong and in a good place and look forward to the future together.”

Arg added: “We’ve had rocky patches, but we always seem to find a way back to one another.”

When asked whether they think their relationship would have panned out differently had they not starred in the reality show, Bright said TOWIE may have kept them together.

“I was at school when me and James met," she said. "I was deferring a place at uni, so I could have potentially gone to Brighton.

“I may have gone there for three years and a long distance relationship may have seen us break down. We never know what way our lives would have gone. TOWIE may have kept us together.”

The Only Way Is Essex returns to ITVBe at 10pm on Sunday, October 4.
