The Rolling Stones have announced that they will tour Latin America after a 10 year absence.

Confirming the news in a statement on Thursday, the British rockers said that they will be playing dates in Peru, Colombia and Uruguay for the first time.

Mick Jagger said: “We love playing Latin America and are excited about going to some cities for the first time!

“The audiences are among some of the best in the world, they bring incredible energy!”

The band will kick off their tour in Santiago, Chile in February and will perform in places including Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio De Janeiro, São Paulo.

This new tour will come just a few months after the legendary rock band ‘s North American Zip Code tour.

Proving a huge success, it became one of the highest grossing tours of the year, raking in $109,714,026 at the box office.

Since reuniting in 2012, the Stones have toured Europe, the Middle East and America.

Earlier this year Keith Richards revealed that the band are planning to record their first album of new material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang.
