The Who have been confirmed to headline this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

The iconic British rock band are the final headline act to be confirmed after Queen and Adam Lambert were announced last year.

Stereophonics and Faithless will fill also headline the festival in a joint headline slot.

Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and their live band will perform part of their Hits 50! Tour on the Saturday night, marking their only UK festival performance this year.

Festival boss John Giddings says: "The Who are part of the fabric of The Isle of Wight Festival, and it’s great to welcome them back to the island as part of their on-going 50th anniversary celebrations.

“We’re proud to have a line-up of home-grown headliners to help celebrate our own 15th anniversary and ensure that this year delivers yet another unforgettable weekend of music.”

Another new addition to the line-up is Richard Ashcroft, who will perform tracks from new album These People.

Festival-goers will also be able to see the like of Iggy Pop, Adam Ant and The Damned.

Isle of Wight Festival takes place at Seaclose Park in Newport between June 9-12.
