Caroline Flack has hit back at body-shamers following this weekend’s X Factor.

The presenter, who co-hosts the ITV show with Olly Murs, slammed online trolls for making nasty comments about her appearance.

She wrote on Twitter: “It's very easy to take a shot at someone online. The vile comments about my weight and just all round look tonight are quite shocking ....”

The 36-year-old went on to say that she’d never said that she was ‘anything special’ so couldn’t understand the jibes.

Flack has spoken out about her body insecurities in the past, admitting that social media comments have an effect on her.

She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “I never weigh myself. I ditched the scales because you become obsessed. It takes over your mind. Sometimes you have to just think "screw it!

“When I went to college, being thin was seen as good so everyone told me I was normal. Then you get older and you start putting on weight and you’re like, "Oh God, I used to be really small." Then you get into the world of media and you just feel the pressure massively.”

She added: “Especially with Twitter. I used to be really comfortable with my body, until I started hearing from people I didn’t even know who have no relevance to me saying, "You’re ugly, you’re fat, you’re old.’”
