Tom Hanks launches Twitter appeal to reunite student with lost ID
US actor Tom Hanks has started a Twitter appeal to reunite a student with her ID.
Hanks, 59, found Fordham University student Lauren’s identity card in a New York park.
He took to Twitter to post a picture and called on his followers to help with the search.
He captioned the image: “Lauren! I found your Student ID in the park. If you still need it my office will get to you. Hanx.”

Hanks’ appeal comes months after a member of the public reunited him with his credit card after he dropped it on a street in New York.

The Mary Poppins actor tweeted his thanks, writing: "A guy named Tony found my credit card on the street in NYC and returned it. You make this city even greater! Thanx. HANX."
Despite his best efforts, Lauren has yet to come forward and claim her ID – but fans of the actor have left hilarious responses to the tweet.
Some referenced his film Castaway and joked that they had found his ball, Wilson, while one girl confirmed she was not Lauren, but asked if she could collect the ID from Hanks on her behalf.
