US soap star Nathaniel Marston dies aged 40 after car crash
American actor Nathaniel Marston has died at the age of 40.
The soap star - who was well known in the US for his roles in As The World Turns and One Life To Live - died on Wednesday evening, 12 days after a car crash.
His mother, Elizabeth Jackson, confirmed the news on Facebook, writing: “Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share this devastating news.
“My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries.

“Nathaniel passed away peacefully as I held him in my arms.”
Martston, who was involved in a crash in Reno, Nevada, would have been “sentenced to life as a quadriplegic” had he survived.
His mother continued: “Had Nathaniel lived he would have required a ventilator and would never have been able to utter one more word and would have been sentenced to life as a quadriplegic.
“A condition that Nate would have never have been able to tolerate.”
As well as his soap roles, Marston also starred in films including The Craft and Love Is All There Is.
