Channing Tatum looks set to produce, and star in an all-male Ghostbusters.

The 22 Jump Street actor may star in Sony's male counter part to the recently announced all-female Ghostbusters.

Described as the “male-driven action-centric comedy,” the film will be developed by Ghostcorps, a new production company headed by original cast member Dan Aykroyd and director Ivan Reitman.

"We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment," Reitman told Deadline.

Originals: Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd as the Ghostbusters

"It's just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of wonderful movies."

The new sci-fi film will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and its next sequel Captain America: Civil War, according to Deadline, with Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3 and Mission Impossible 5) set to pen the screenplay.

The film would follow the much anticipated all female remake which is set for release on July 22 2016.

Directed by Paul Feig the revival will star Bridesmaids actresses Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy alongside Saturday Night Live members Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
