Christine Bleakley 'cried for 10 minutes' after proposal

Christine Bleakley "cried for 10 minutes" when boyfriend Frank Lampard asked her to marry him.

The 'Daybreak' presenter - who got engaged to the England and Chelsea midfielder yesterday when he popped the question while on holiday in Los Angeles - explained she was "beyond shocked" at the proposal.

She said: "I was beyond shocked. It was very personal, very private actually, and we were just having a gorgeous lunch by the beach and he simply popped the question. It was completely out of the blue.

"He started to build up to it and he got a little bit lovey-dovey. And half-way through the lovey-dovey bit, I realised what he was about to do so I started to cry. I started to cry for about ten minutes and then he pulled the ring out and said, Will you marry me?' and that was it!"

The Northern Irish beauty - who has been dating Frank in October 2009 - admitted the 32-year-old hunk had the engagement perfectly planned, having asked her parents for their permission and flying her ring out to the US in advance so she wouldn't find it in his suitcase.

Christine added to ITV1's 'Daybreak': "He'd spoken to my mum and dad beforehand, so he'd done the very right thing.

"Because I'm such a nosey cow, he thought if he brought the ring over that I would find it in the suitcase. So his best friend, or one of his best mates who works out here, he flew out with the ring in advance.

"So it was like a military operation to make sure I got the ring without me ever having seen it previous to that. So it was all organised about three months leading up to this day. Unbelievable!"
