Christine McGuinness has revealed that she’s “taking time out” as she comes to terms with the recent death of her grandmother.

The 34-year-old model, who recently split from her husband Paddy McGuinness, 48, admitted that the tragic loss “hit her harder” than she expected.

Taking to social media to share the poignant post, the mum of three admitted she was feeling exhausted as she opened up about coming to terms with an “unpredictable” few months.

“I know I’m being quieter on here, I hope to be back properly soon, I’m just needing some time out, thinking lots, life is short, unpredictable and sometimes crazy,” she wrote on her Instagram stories.

McGuinness added: “My nan, the one with the words of wisdom, joined my grandad in heaven last week and it’s hit me harder than I ever imagined.

“Then my dad turned 60... if you have read my story you will understand why this is huge, I can’t help but wonder how he made it this far. But I’m so grateful he is still here, even with his struggles, I’m thankful for that.”

She concluded: “Anyway, life is crazy, we’re half way through the school summer holidays again, if you know... you know! I’m slightly exhausted! But happy, healthy and grateful for life.”

Alongside her message, the television star shared an image of a gorgeous sunset.

Last month, Paddy and Christine confirmed that they’d split after 15 years together, following months of speculation that their romance was in trouble.

Despite facing a difficult few months, McGuinness has also taken some time to heal by jetting off on holidays with friends and spending time at the beach.

She has also shared several teasers as she gets to work filming another project following the success of her documentary about autism that was released last year.

In the last few weeks, she’s travelled to London and has been pictured with camera equipment after confirming in June that she was filming a documentary about autism in women and girls.
