The daughter of former EastEnders actor Sam Attwater and Dancing on Ice professional Vicky Ogden is recovering after being rushed to hospital having sliced her head open while ice skating.

Poor Rosie, seven, had been performing a daring stunt on the ice when she caught the back of her head with heel of the blade of her ice skate.

Attwater, who played the character Leon Small in the BBC soap for 8 months back in 2010, took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share details of what can only be described as every parents’ worst nightmare.

Alongside a picture of the youngster’s bloodied head, he wrote: "Spent the afternoon in A&E with Rosie. This is what happens when you do Gymnastics and Ice skating and are incredibly flexible. "She managed to get the heel of her blade in the back of her head when kicking backwards."

In the next story, the Basingstoke-born star shared a clip of Rosie crying in the backseat of the car as he issued a health update with his fans.

He said: "She's all good!!! Thank you for all who have messaged and to the nurses who looked after her. How amazing is the NHS."

Attwater won the sixth series of Dancing On Ice in 2010, for which he was partnered with professional Brianne Delcourt.

He returned to the ice for an All Stars series in 2014 and was paired with now-wife Ogden.

While they were eliminated the week before the final, they did go on to become the first couple from the ITV show to marry in 2014, and as well as Rosie, they are also parents to daughter Daisy.
