Dick and Dom, the BBC's smutty answer to Ant and Dec, are to front a revival of genteel quiz Ask The Family.

The show, hosted by Robert Robinson from 1967 to 1982, is to be relaunched in a tea-time slot in the spring. The children's show presenters, criticised in the Commons for their 'lavatorial' humour, will not be the only change - the BBC is to open the quiz to gays and single-parents.

The BBC says Dick and Dom - Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood, who host Dick & Dom in Da Bungalow - will bring a 'unique and wacky' humour to the programme.
