Dick Van Dyke has been involved in a car crash, according to reports.

The Hollywood veteran actor, 98, was said to have been driving a 2018 Lexus LS 500 in the Malibu area of Los Angeles, when he allegedly lost control of the car in a a single-car accident last Wednesday.

Police officers arrived on the scene to find the Mary Poppins star behind the wheel of the car, which had crashed into a gate.

According to TMZ, Van Dyke suffered minor injuries, including bleeding from the nose and a concussion. He was treated at the scene but reportedly did not want to go to hospital.

The US news outlet reports that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the accident, but the police department has submitted paperwork to the DMV requesting that Van Dyke retake his driving test due to his age.

They further report that Van Dyke - who recently became the oldest contestant to appear on The Masked Singer US - did not drive himself home from the scene, with someone picking him up.

The Standard has contacted a representative for Dick Van Dyke for comment.
