Love Island's Lee Otway and Brendan Cole have had a punch-up. Things turned nasty on the ITV1 reality show as the pair traded blows.

And it was little Lee who came off worst. The pair had a furious argument and ex-Hollyoaks actor Lee threw the first punch.

Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan reacted by whacking him six times, telling him: "That's one punch for every week you've p***ed me off."

Lee was left with a bloodied ear and a bruised ego. The fight broke out in the back of a limo as they arrived back in the resort after a booze-fuelled day out on a luxury yacht with Calum and Chris.

Brendan later explained: "A few beers have been had and true feelings have come out. "I said my piece and then I get a punch thrown at me, and I must say I don't take too kindly to being hit.

"I didn't appreciate a punch thrown at me and I acted, I think, accordingly. I'm disappointed it's come to that after six weeks on Love Island because this should have been an amazing experience."

Lee saw things differently. The Bradford-born actor said he threw the first punch because Brendan was insulting him.

"He was telling me I lay it on thick, I'm always trying to be the centre of attention, disrespectful behaviour," he complained.

"He hit me six times. I was whacking back, he said that's one punch for every week you p***ed me off, he was asking me to try hitting him again.

"I want to go home now. I want to walk after that, being battered in the head six times and made to look like a******. I know in my heart I was in the right."

The pair eventually hugged and made up but Brendan was unrepentant.

"In the same situation I would do the same thing again. I am not saying I am wrong," he insisted.
