Proud Central presents sex, drugs and rock'n'roll with a touch of class when Elvis and Marilyn appear together in contrasting photographic studies of two of the most recognisable icons of the 20th century.

Douglas Kirkland's infamous shoot of Monroe wearing nothing but her Chanel No 5 and a silk sheet has been brought to the UK for the first time. Dumping her entourage, Marilyn was alone with the photographer for the session and the chemistry between the two is clear, with Kirkland coyly describing the shoot as 'extremely intimate'.

Alongside these provocative portraits are images from the King's career. These cover everything from his time spent as a GI in Germany to his film years in Vegas, and are taken from the substantial and famous archives of the Picture Goer magazine and the Daily Mirror.

Elvis & Marilyn, until Thur 5 Sep, Proud Central, 5 Buckingham Street, WC2 (020-7428 4949).
