Farrah Fawcett was given the all-clear yesterday after treatment for cancer.

The actress, most famous for her role in Charlie's Angels, had chemotherapy and surgery after being diagnosed with rectal cancer in September.

Her medical team in Los Angeles said the intervention had worked and her "prognosis was excellent".

Miss Fawcett, who turned 60 on Friday, said: "I hope that my news might offer some level of inspiration to others who unfortunately must continue to fight the disease."
