Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that ex-husband Chris Martin is now “like a brother” to her, following their 2014 split.

The couple famously “consciously uncoupled” after 10 years of marriage, with their divorce being finalised in April 2015.

And it seems that Paltrow has well and truly put everything behind her, telling Stephen Colbert that the Coldplay star – with whom she shares 13-year-old daughter Apple and 11-year-old son Moses with - is still family to her.

The 45-year-old said: “He’s really like my brother, we’re very familial. It’s nice, it’s great.”

Paltrow continued: “Divorce is terrible, it was very painful, it was really hard. We really genuinely wanted our kids to be as unscathed as possible.

“We thought if we could really maintain the family even though we weren’t a couple that was kind of the goal so that’s what we’ve tried to do,” she concluded.

The award-winning actress recently announced her engagement to television writer Brad Falchuk after dating for almost three years.

Paltrow went public with the big news on the cover of Goop Magazine’s Sex & Love special as she opened up about finding love after divorce.

She told the publication: “Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be. I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy.”

Meanwhile, Martin, 40, recently confirmed he is dating Fifty Shades actress Dakota Johnson, 28.
