Hope it doesn't rain on this year's New Year's Day parade - London's big annual event to welcome in the New Year.

It will also be the first event to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee - 50 years since she became sovereign.

More than a million people turned up last year and thousands more are expected to join in this year's fun alongside young performers from the USA, West Indies, Hawaii, Canada and Europe, street entertainers, jugglers, clowns, stilt walkers, acrobats, vintage cars, animals from dogs to donkeys, ponies to shire horses as well as all the traditional marching bands and colossal inflatable cartoon figures.

Definitely worth a visit, seeing as it's FREE and you've probably spent your Christmas bonus already.

The parade commences at Parliament Square and Whitehall, proceeding along Whitehall to Trafalgar Square (a good vantage point), Cockspur Street, Lower Regent Street, Piccadilly and Berkeley Street.

New Year's Day, noon. For further details visit www.londonparade.co.uk
