With not even a hint of square jaw or muscled torso, James Corden is hardly your average sex symbol.

And that is just the way Lily Allen likes him.

Of course, Corden has the added attraction of being television's man of the moment.

I only have eyes for you: James Cordon with Lily Allen on Wednesday

Miss Allen, 22, who has recently embarked on her own TV career, has been spotted with Corden twice in just over a week.

He has been celebrating winning two Bafta awards for the BBC3 sitcom Gavin and Stacey which he both writes and stars in.

The series, essentially the love story of a Welsh girl and an Essex boy, is expected to move to BBC1 primetime.

It has been a hit with audiences of all ages and even has its own Facebook group "What's Occurring?" in homage to the character Nessa's catchphrase.

Affection: James has previously referred to Lily as an 'amazing' girl

Corden and Miss Allen, who recently broke up with Ed Simons from the dance DJs Chemical Brothers, left the Groucho Club together on Wednesday night.

They picked up her BMW before being driven to Corden's home in Bethnal Green, East London.

The 29-year-old actor and writer has already been open in his admiration for Miss Allen, describing the singer as "an amazing girl".

They met when he appeared on her BBC3 chat show last month.

Connection: the two shared a touchy-feely moment

"Let me tell you this," he told her on the programme.

"On my life, without irony or agenda, truly, I don't think you realise how lovely you are."

He said in a later interview: "She could do with a little cuddle every now and then and I might just be the man to give her that."

But he was a little less forthright about the nature of their relationship when asked about his new friend at the Baftas ceremony on Sunday.

"I'm not going to say anything about that," he replied.

The eyes have it: the pair exchanged flirty looks outside the club

Corden, previously best known for his role in the movie and theatrical versions of Alan Bennett's play The History Boys, is making the most of the party circuit since his Baftas win.

On Tuesday, he started the night at the What Happens in Vegas movie premiere before moving on to The Casino at the Empire, followed by a stint at the Groucho Club and finally Bungalow 8.

As he left the club, he was surrounded by blondes. He didn't look too surprised.

At 5ft 7in and 18 stone, he may not be conventional heartthrob material. But he is used to female admiration.

His fan groups on websites enthuse about his "beautiful eyes" and "lovely manner".
