Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton has landed a new role on ITV’s Lorraine, according to reports.

The 39-year-old TV presenter is set to host a segment titled Me Time, looking at physical, mental and emotional wellbeing with Lorraine Kelly and Dr Amir Khan.

Skelton has presented BBC’s Countryfile since 2014 and was a former co-host on BBC’s Blue Peter from 2008 to 2013.

The mum-of-three also co-presented BBC One’s Holiday Hit Squad programme and has written a series of adventure books on the outdoors, titled Wild Girl.

A source told the Mirror that “Helen is more in demand than ever and ITV were delighted to land her”.

The presenter has previously spoken about the importance of ‘me time’, saying: “I took up golf last year to carve out some me time. Spending time in and among greenery is definitely good for me. Fresh air and good views always make me feel better.

“I love water too, so a walk by the lake or in the woods is good for me. My boys are the same. If they’re happy, I am. I try to be grateful – and am lucky that work is often enjoyable, so I feel like work is sometimes ‘me time’. “

Skelton’s reported move from her usual home on BBC to ITV comes after her shock split earlier this year from her husband of nine years, Richie Myler.

Myler, 32, a rugby league player for the Leeds Rhinos, revealed his new romance with girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill shortly after his split with Skelton.

Myler shares three children with Skelton - Ernie, 7, Louis, 5, and eight-month-old Elsie.

Following the pair’s separation, Skelton has thrown herself into work including being announced for this year’s BBC Strictly Come Dancing celebrity line-up.

The On The Farm presenter told BBC Radio 5 that “the thing that makes me nervous... I agreed to it a few days ago and people keep saying, ‘Can you dance?’

“And I say no because isn’t it the point to learn to dance?”

Skelton’s representatives have been contacted for comment.
