Ricky Gervais missed out on an Emmy for Extras last night, so he reminded the audience at the LA ceremony of his 2007 victory.

Walking up to Steve Carell - who starred in the US version of The Office and collected the Emmy on his behalf last year - the Brit joked: "I made you what you are. I've come to get it back." Gervais, 47, was not confident of success ahead of last night's awards: "Me, a fat bloke from England - I've no chance," he said.
