David 'The Hoff' Hasselhoff has paid homage to his famous 90s television role in Baywatch while filming the Sunday Night Project as a celebrity guest host.

Wearing the red bathing suit familiar to millions of television viewers, the actor and singer appears in comedy sketches with presenters Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr, who are back for a seventh series.

Hasselhoff, 56, played lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in Baywatch with co-star Pamela Anderson, which ran from 1989 to 1999.

The series propelled him to international stardom, resulting in the actor being one of the world's most recognised faces.

Prior to Baywatch, Hasselhoff  played Michael Knight in the television series Knight Rider for four years.

He currently appears as a judge on the reality series America's Got Talent, which features singers, dancers and magicians battling it out for the top prize of $1million.

His co-judges are Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan.

The actor has also had his share of controversy, with a video released last year showing him drunk. The video, filmed by his daughter, forced him to admit to a long battle with alcoholism.

The Sunday Night Project will air on Sunday, July 6 at 10pm on Channel 4.
