More than two years after giving birth to her first child, former Blue Peter presenter Katy Hill has finally shed her baby weight - and she couldn't be more thrilled.

The 37-year-old, who at one point squeezed into a size 16, is now a svelte size 10 after overhauling her lifestyle and fitness regime.

Katy, who posed in a string bikini to celebrate her new physique, gushes: 'I'm really happy!'

Katy suffered a number of health problems during her 2004 pregnancy, including symphysis pubis - a dysfunction which causes severe pelvic pain - and eventually put on four-and-a-half stone.

'I'd had visions of me wafting around in maternity dresses but it wasn't quite like that. I had cankles - by the end all I could wear were flip-flops!'

'My husband Trey tells me that it was like I had a fat suit! It looked like someone had got a straw and blown me up!'

'I have to admit it was a particularly long, hot summer, so by the end of it was like, 'Get her out!''

After welcoming her daughter Kaya, Katy and her husband, whom she met while they were presenters on children's show Live And Kicking, moved to LA.

There, she felt the pressure to reassess her body.

She admits: 'It's not helpful that certain celebs have their babies early to avoid getting fat, have a tummy tuck at the same time and appear to ping back into shape almost overnight.

'If you're more concerned with losing weight than enjoying this miracle there's something wrong.'

But she grew tired of her 'saggy' belly, and embarked on a vigorous regime.

Katy also began taking diet supplement Lipobind, and now is a spokesperson for the brand.

She told the Daily Mirror: 'I started taking it and going to the gym most days. Generally, I'll use the cross trainer or go to classes as you're pushed to keep up.

'I do cardio and weights with loads of sit-ups and push-ups.

'Here I am, five months on, and I'm down two dress sizes and 9st 6lb!'

Katy, who plans to move back to England next year, hasn't decided if she'll try for a second child.

She says: 'At the moment I'm enjoying my body.'
