Sharon Osbourne is in talks with ITV to host a teatime chat show to rival Paul O'Grady on Channel 4.

The X Factor judge, 53, is about to sign up for a six-week series called Mrs Osbourne Presents.

It could also pit her dog Minnie against O'Grady's pooch Buster. ITV began playing repeats of the Paul O'Grady show when the star jumped ship for Channel 4 this year.

An ITV spokesman said the deal with Osbourne had not been signed.

"The show will air at teatime but no specific slot has been mapped out," he added.

Osbourne will be hoping to fare better than Davina McCall. The BBC has axed her show following poor ratings.
