J.Lo: I hated 'Bennifer'

Jennifer Lopez has broken her silence about her relationship with Ben Affleck and revealed she almost had a 'breakdown' during their split.

The actress and singer dated the Hollywood hunk for 18 months, and their high-profile relationship, dubbed 'Bennifer' by the press, soon became a media monster. They starred in two films together and Affleck was ridiculed for appearing in his fianceé's video for Jenny From The Block.

The 35-year-old star, who recently wed third husband Marc Anthony, now says she hated the negative publicity surrounding the celebrity couple.

"It definitely reached a fever pitch. I just felt that it was a time where things built up and out of my control. I thought, 'What is this thing that has become me? Who is that thing?' And I didn't like it," she told The Sun.

Now Lopez believes through her three marriages and two engagements she has discovered the secret of a healthy relationship. And her attitude is to remain positive now even when things go wrong.

She says: "My whole philosophy of life has always been to come from a place of gratitude. It's the one thing that can keep you grounded when you feel really, really bad. Like those moments when you're about to break down. I always dealt with it. But it came to a point where I was 'you know what? I'm at a different point in my life now.'"
