Mother-to-be Jamelia told of her surprise baby joy today
The R&B star announced this week she is three months pregnant by her partner, footballer Darren Byfield.
And the 24-year-old showed off the first hint of a baby bump on a modelling assignment for hosiery firm Pretty Polly.
She said: "The baby wasn't planned but it was a very welcome surprise.
"I don't mind if I have a boy or a girl - I'll be happy either way.
"I've got a new album out next year and my music career won't be affected by the baby.
But I think modelling might prove a little bit difficult in a few months time!"
The leggy star is the face of Pretty Polly.
Looking stunning in a turquoise dress, she teamed up with celebrity make-up artist Jemma Kidd to launch the firm's new summer collection.
Footballer Darren, who plays for Gillingham, joined her at the shoot in the House of Fraser store on London's Oxford Street.
The Birmingham-born singer is expecting the baby in October.
She already has a four-year-old daughter Teja, from a previous relationship.
After bursting onto the music scene aged 18 she put her career on hold when Teja was born in 2001. But she returned to the charts in 2003 with hit single Superstar.
She was recently nominated for a Ivor Novello award for her song Thank You.
Her next big gig will be at Stamford Bridge on May 28.
