They are due to host the Brit Awards on Wednesday, but James Corden says he hasn't even met Kylie Minogue yet - let alone rehearsed. And, with only two days to go until the big event, the portly comic admits he and fellow presenter Mat Horne are in big trouble.

Good couple: James Corden and Sheridan Smith

The Gavin And Stacey stars are presenting the awards ceremony at Earls Court with Kylie, but James confessed to us: "We haven't done any rehearsals with Kylie. I haven't even met her yet. I hope we get some time on the day or we're f***ed."

The 30-yearold comedian also told us he wishes he had more freedom to do his own thing on stage.

Last night he was presenting the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards, where his ad-libbed jokes went down a storm.

He added: "If only I could do the Brits like I'm doing this tonight. The total of our entire links add up to 12 minutes, so there's no time for any ad libbing or messing around. I'm absolutely sh*tting it."

Something tells us it will be alright on the night.

James was presenting the awards at the Prince Of Wales Theatre with his girlfriend Sheridan Smith, the Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps actress with whom he has just recently got back together.

After collecting an award, The Kinks frontman Ray Davies stumbled off the stage in the wrong direction, prompting James to warn the audience not to do drugs.

Sheridan quipped: "It's not the Brits yet."

Our spy at the show said: "James and Sheridan were really cute together onstage. When someone collected an award they stood at the back of the stage holding hands, kissing and whispering into each other's ears."

However, when asked what she was saying, Sheridan laughed and said: "I just told him how drunk I am."
