Janet Jackson shares birthday wishes for son Eissa as he turns six

Janet Jackson has made the rare move of paying tribute to her son Eissa publicly.

The 56-year-old star marked his birthday by sharing a messageon Instagram that read: “To my beautiful baby Eissa, Happy 6th Birthday!

“I LUV you and I’m so proud of who you are!"

Several of the star’s famous friends and fans shared well wishes in the comments, including singer Ciara who wrote: “Eissa!! We love you so much!”

Jackson, who had hit headlines after announcing she was expecting at age 50, shares her son with ex-husband Wissam Al Mana.

The pair officially separated just a few months after Eissa was born.

Her birthday message to their son is the second time she’s spoken about him publicly in recent times.

Jackson, who keeps Eissa firmly out of the limelight, spoke about him on the Today show last month.

The That’s The Way Love Goes singer revealed Eissa had no idea his mother is famous — although he is being clued-up by his friends.

She said: "I think his friends are starting to put it together for him because I’ve kept him away from it, actually."

Eissa’s birthday comes just a few days after Jackson announced she would put "MeToo checks" in place during her new US tour, Together Again, which kicks off in the spring.

Beyoncé was one of the first stars to implement checks for producers and collaborators on her tour, after a former collaborator was arrested for sexual assault in 2020.
