British actor Jude Law has been chosen as one of the jurors for the 64th Cannes Film Festival.

He will be on the feature film jury, of which Robert de Niro is president.

Other members include American actress Uma Thurman, Hong Kong director Johnny To and French director Olivier Assayas.

They will be responsible for awarding prizes including the Palme d'Or.

Law drew attention in 1997 film Gattaca and has since starred in hits including The Talented Mr Ripley, The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus and Sherlock Holmes.

The Cannes film festival runs from May 11 to 22.
