The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince sparked an alert when he went walkabout in the middle of the band's tour.

Old friends: Kate Moss out with Bobby Gillespie in Notting Hill

His bandmate Alison Mosshart was so concerned she posted a Facebook message urging anyone who saw him to get in touch.

Concern: Alison and Jamie before he vanished

Hince, the 40-year-old boyfriend of Kate Moss, disappeared after a gig in the Canadian city of Montreal, during The Kills' North American leg of their world tour.

He was due back on stage in Toronto last night and the concert had not been cancelled, so the band's managers were clearly optimistic he would turn up.

Two days earlier Hince had a scuffle with a fan during a show in New York, the Sun has reported. A witness said the man had been f lashing V signs in the front row and Hince hauled him up on stage and threw him against the speaker stack before hurling him back into the crowd.

Moss, 35, last night seemed unconcerned by Hince's disappearance as she enjoyed a night out in Notting Hill with her old friend, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream. Earlier this week the model snubbed The Kills' New York concert, flying in afterwards to attend the Metropolitan Museum of Art gala on Monday.
