Supermodel Jodie Kidd has criticised the use of young models during London Fashion Week.

Her comments come after it was revealed another model, Uruguayan Eliana Ramos, 18, had died from extreme dieting after a suspected heart attack.

Her death comes seven months after her sister Luisel, 22, died from heart failure during a fashion show.

Luisel's death sparked the size-zero debate and prompted Spain's fashion industry bosses to ban underweight models from Madrid Fashion Week.

Kidd, 28, a fashion show star at 15 and now the face of LG Electronics, said the catwalk is no place for 14-year-old girls.

She admitted she might seem "a bit of a hypocrite", adding: "I was only 15 when I started, but I was very mature for my age."

She defended the models, saying: "If anyone has the finger pointed at them it should be the designers, because they're the ones who want that look."

Designer Stefano Gabbana agreed, saying yesterday that if he had a daughter he would not allow her on a catwalk.
