Kim Cattrall’s cameo on Sex and the City spin-off, And Just Like That, has been branded “fabulous” and “perfect” by viewers.

The actress, 66, reprised her beloved character Samantha Jones in the season two finale, which aired on Thursday (24 August) after it was first reported in June.

The Glamorous star, who has been embroiled in a longstanding feud with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker for years, is believed to have recorded her dialogue in March without seeing or interacting with any of the show’s stars.

Her character’s cameo was on the phone to Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw in the scene

In the very first episode of the SATC spin-off, Cattrall’s absence is addressed in a scene that sees Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw reveal that Samantha ended their friendship.

Bradshaw tells pals Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis): “It’s kind of like she’s dead – we never talk about her. She stopped returning my calls.”

To which Hobbes said: “Her pride got damaged.”

Responding, Bradshaw admitted: “I thought I was more to her than an ATM. I always thought the four of us would be friends forever.”

However, Jones return in the season finale sees the pair bury the hatchet over a phone call in a bid to mend their fractured friendship.

Calling Bradshaw from her home in London, Jones admits in the scene that she was “f***ing furious” to not be able to make a farewell dinner at the writer’s old New York apartment.

Still stunned about receiving a phonecall from Jones, Bradshaw discovers that “Miranda and Charlotte told [Jones] all about it” and that Samantha “was going to surprise” her.

To which the PR guru says: “It is your apartment, and I have to pay my respects.”

Following her remark, Bradshaw puts Jones on speaker so she can tell the apartment: “Thank you for everything, you f***ing fabulous, fabulous flat.”

Ending the call, she tells Carrie: “Ta, and cheerio – and have a great night.”

Following the interaction, fans of the spin-off have shared their joy over the scene, with many claiming the on-screen moment was much better than they feared it would be.

One penned: “My eyes lit up seeing Samantha/Kim Cattrall back tonight on #AndJustLikeThat.

“I missed her sm. Thank you for bringing her back even for a cameo!”

“Seeing @KimCattrall back as #SamanthaJones was everything,” another wrote. “And just like that I’m kinda satisfied with Samantha’s appearance”.

A fourth added: “Just to hear Samantha Jones say ‘F**KING FABULOUS’ again was F**KING PERFECTION!!”

“Samantha Jones cameo was perfect and fabulous as Carrie would say,” a fan concluded.

And while her cameo has been meet with delight, viewers will be disappointed to hear that the brief appearance will likely be the last they ever see of Samantha Jones.

Cattrall said of the cameo in June: “This is as far as I’m going to go. I don’t think I’ll ever say goodbye to Samantha.

“She’s like a lot of other characters that I’ve done over the years. She gave me so much, and I’m so appreciative of her.”
