Kim Kardashian is reportedly being a very hands-on mother with baby daughter Chicago, who was born earlier this month.

Kardashian and husband Kanye West welcomed their third child into the world via a 'gestational carrier' on January 15.

According to Us Weekly, Kardashian is being “hands-on” with her new addition as she's keen to bond in the first few weeks

A source told the publication: “Kim gets up for everything, in the middle of the night, especially in the first week. It’s really important they bond with the baby. Kim’s a very hands-on mom.”

They added: “Baby is settling in beautifully. Chi is sleeping a ton for now.”

Kardashian recently shared a snap of a personalised jumper for Chi – pronounced Shy – with her social media followers, along with a picture of West holding four-year-old North.

Days after the birth, the 37-year-old star revealed what it had been like to have a child carried by surrogate in a post on her website titled The Truth About My Pregnancy.

Kardashian wrote: “I have always been really honest about my struggles with pregnancy. Pre-eclampsia and placenta accreta are high-risk conditions, so when I wanted to have a third baby, doctors said that it wasn’t safe for my—or the baby’s—health to carry on my own.

“Having a gestational carrier is definitely different, but anyone who says or thinks it’s the easy way out is completely wrong. People assume it’s better because you don’t have to deal with the physical changes, pain or complications with delivery, but for me it was so hard to not carry my own child, especially after I carried North and Saint.”
