Macho Life on Mars maverick cop, Philip Glenister, played up to his on-screen hard man image as he larked around on the golf course and jokingly undid his flies for photographers.

After a four hour round of golf, and a spot of much deserved refreshment in the nineteenth hole, the actor loaded up his brand new BMW which is a world away from his character's Cortina.

Glenister stars as DCI Gene Hunt in Life on Mars, the seventies-set, time warp police drama, which has been nominated for three awards at the TV Baftas.

Recently the series has come under fire by teachers who have criticised the show for its brutal language and total lack of political correctness.
