There would have been plenty of staring at the floor when Lily Allen came face to face with the ex-wife of a man with whom she has just had a fling.

The 23-year-old singer bumped into artist Sam Taylor-Wood at Scott's restaurant in Mayfair, only a few weeks after having a holiday romance with her former husband Jay Jopling, 45. He and Lily were spotted kissing and cuddling on a recent break in St Barts in the Caribbean. Things took a frosty turn last night when the women caught sight of each other, and Lily didn't stick around long to find out what might have happened.

A fellow diner said: "Lily just had a yellow tuna steak with a herb salad before leaving." Lily, wearing a flared allinone trouser suit, then went to a party at Blur frontman Damon Albarn's home in Westbourne Park.
