It's official - shell-suited teen Vicky Pollard, Daffyd the 'only gay in the village' and bigoted Fat Fighters leader Marjorie Dawes are coming to a town near you.

Cult BBC comedy Little Britain goes on tour next year, it was announced yesterday. The show, starring Matt Lucas and David Walliams, makes absurd statements on the nature of Britain and recently won best comedy at the National Television Awards. It has also been nominated for the best TV comedy and best TV comedy actor at next month's British Comedy Awards.

'We like to be quite naughty and spontaneous, getting the audience involved,' said Lucas. 'In fact, we used to confiscate people's shoes, so beware.' The 18-date tour kicks off in Portsmouth in October.

Tickets go on sale from Saturday.
