Afraid of being left on the shelf, Little Britain comedian David Williams has made a pact with friend Denise Van Outen to get marry next year.

The two agreed to marry each other within two years if they fail to find love elsewhere.

Despite not being short of celebrity dates, Walliams has yet to find love, and recently confessed to an unrequited passion for George Clooney's ex-girlfriend, television presenter Lisa Snowdon.

The Little Britain admitted to the bizarre pact on ITV's Parkinson tomorrow night.

He said: "I do have a marriage pact with Denise Van Outen. We went on holiday together and we said that if we weren't married to anybody else in two years time we'd get married."

"Six months has gone by... that could happen, but we're just friends."

Miss Van Outen split up with ex-fiancee Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay in 2001 and then since dated lap dance club owner Richard Traviss, for three years until they split in 2005.

He added: "I think when she said it she was pretty much hoping she'd be wed in two years, so I may be pulling her down the aisle in tears!"

Meanwhile, Walliams and partner Matt Lucas are busy planning a move into the U.S. market which is being handled by Spice Girls and Pop Idol supremo Simon Fuller who they recently signed with.

They are planning a film of their hit show and are in discussions about reworking the BBC series for U.S. audiences in a deal with cable broadcaster HBO.

The busy pair, who recently signed a multi-million pound golden handcuffs deal with the BBC, are also planning a British spin-off show featuring their best-loved characters Lou and Andy and two Little Britain Christmas specials.

But there is some good news on the marriage front. In the interview, to be broadcast tomorrow, Lucas spoke about his forthcoming gay wedding to TV producer Kevin McGee.

"We're going to have a civil partnership - or marriage - or whatever you like to call it," he said.

"I think the first thing is I suppose, we are very much in love but also it's important that gay couples have the same rights as straight couples."
