A pig previously owned by YouTuber Logan Paul, 27, has been rescued by an animal sanctuary after allegedly being abandoned.

The Gentle Barn, an animal sanctuary in California, shared on TikTok that Pearl the pig was found in a field next to a pig who had died, and that she was “lucky to still be alive.”

The sanctuary said that she had “tattered ears and a potentially life-threatening infection in her uterus”, and that she had “clearly been through so much trauma that we can’t begin to imagine”.

The sanctuary added: “While we don’t know everything she’s been through in her past, we know her life is now filled with friends, nutritious foods, the highest quality care, and so much love.”

Paul bought Pearl a few years ago with his girlfriend at the time, Chloe Bennet, and initially believed that she was a mini pig.

In a YouTube video from September 2018, Paul documented him buying Pearl and described it as the “best decision I’ve ever made of my life”.

Following the Gentle Barn’s TikTok video, Paul thanked the sanctuary for rescuing her and explained how she ended up being abandoned in an email to the Gentle Barn, obtained by TMZ.

According to Paul, Pearl lived with him for two years, until 2020, where she was “treated like the princess she is”.

He said that she “bathed regularly, ate a variety of healthy meals, roamed the yard” and that she even “loves to cuddle”.

When Paul moved to Puerto Rico in April 2020, he said that Pearl went to live at a horse ranch in Santa Clarita but, 10 months later, she was rehomed with a farmer who lived nearby.

In the email, Paul wrote: “It’s shocking and heartbreaking to hear the state she was found. I wanted to reach out personally and say thank you for taking her in.”

Paul recently hit headlines for his CryptoZoo project failure, in which his fans lost money after investing in his cryptocurrency game, according to the BBC.

He encouraged his fans to buy cryptocurrency collectables and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as part of an online game that allowed players to buy, sell and trade digital animal images. But a year after the project was announced, Paul was forced to apologise to people who had invested in the project after it failed to materialise.

He wrote on the CryptoZoo Discord page that he would be “taking accountability, apologising and coming forward with a plan in the near future”.
