She is better known for stumbling out of bars in a dishevelled state - but troubled Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan appears to have undergone a stunning transformation in a campaign for top fashion label Miu Miu.

This picture was taken late last year, shortly before the actress was admitted to a clinic in a bid to halt her partying lifestyle.

Miss Lohan, a close friend of socialite Paris Hilton, was publicly humiliated last July while filming Georgia Rule, when a letter was leaked, berating her for a lack of professionalism. Producer James G. Robinson told the star: "We are well aware that your ongoing all-night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called "exhaustion"."

Last month, according to her publicist Leslie Zelnik, Miss Lohan broke off filming her latest film, I Know Who Killed Me, to enter hospital to have her appendix removed.

And two weeks later she admitted herself to the Wonderland rehabilitation centre in Los Angeles, saying: "I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health."

Her mother, Dina, said her family had staged 'several interventions' to persuade her to seek help. The actress is reportedly back on the film set, continuing her therapy as an outpatient.

Miss Lohan, who turns 21 in July, made her name with teenage film Mean Girls in 2004.

She dated restaurateur Harry Morton last year but her partying ways proved too much for him. Since then she has been seen out with new friend Sienna Miller. During her stay in London last year Miss Lohan was linked with George Best's son Calum.
