The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.

Renner was the only person injured in the incident, said a spokesperson, who also confirmed that an investigation had been launched by its Major Accident Investigation Team.

According to local news site, the Reno Gazette-Journal, Renner has a home in the Reno area, near to Lake Tahoe.

The area was hit by a winter storm on New Year’s Eve.

He has also featured in films including The Hurt Locker, American Hustle, and Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol alongside Tom Cruise.
